EV Charger Installation

Charge your electric car at home

Charging at home is the most convenient way to run an electric car, but a charger draws a lot of power for hours at a time, so it needs to be installed correctly.

Before installing, we check your incoming supply, main fuse rating, earthing arrangement and consumer unit to make sure your property can safely handle the extra load. Most homes on a single-phase supply use a 7kW charger.

We install your charger on its own dedicated circuit with the correct protection, including protection against open-PEN faults where the installation requires it, then test, certify and show you how to use it.

Areas we cover: Manchester, Salford, Stockport, Trafford, Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Tameside and Wigan, across Greater Manchester.

EV Charger Installation: your questions answered

How long does an EV charger installation take?

Most home installations take between half a day and a day, depending on the cable route and whether any upgrades are needed.

Do I need a new consumer unit?

Not always. If your existing board has space and suitable protection, the charger can often be added to it. We'll tell you during the survey.

What size charger do I need?

A 7kW charger suits most homes on a single-phase supply and will fully charge most electric cars overnight.
